Paul Shifflett, 60, was born on August 19 in Springfield, California. After a life marked by strength, stubbornness, and love in his own way, he passed away on February 22, 2026, in the evening hours peacefully at home, surrounded by family. He left this world deeply loved, leaving a lasting space in the hearts of those who knew him.
Paul was a man of strong will and strong presence hard-headed at times, yet deeply human and deeply loved. He lived life in his own way and, like all of us, carried both strengths and struggles. In the end, what mattered most was connection. Many were able to share words of forgiveness, love, and reconciliation with him, bringing peace to relationships and comfort to hearts. That grace will remain part of his legacy.
The greatest love of Paul’s life was his wife, Connie Shifflett. Their bond was one that carried through life’s ups and downs, and she remained his most important person. He also leaves behind his children: Georganna Shifflett, Eliza Shifflett, Tessa Wilson, Kalyn Dugan, and Crystal Meighen; along with 13 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter who remain part of the family he loved and leaves behind.
He is also survived by his mother, Ms. Norma Rose, along with his sister, Renee, and his brother, James “Jimmy.” Though life created distance at times, family connections remained part of his story.
Paul made many connections and friendships throughout the years, including a special bond with his best friend, Rich. Those friendships mattered deeply to him and shaped the story of his life.
He had a love for Harley-Davidson motorcycles and found freedom and peace in his rides. He was also a gifted handyman who found joy in fixing things whether it was a project, a problem, or something broken. In his own way, he always tried to make things better and to please those around him. That effort, that trying, is something his family will always remember.
Paul’s life was not defined by perfection, but by persistence, personality, and the imprint he left on others. He was loved. He is forgiven. And he will be remembered for the ways he showed up, tried, and cared in the ways he knew how.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
We thank You for the life of Paul. We ask that You receive him with mercy and peace. Where there was struggle, bring rest. Where there was pain, bring healing. Where there were broken pieces, make them whole. Surround him now with the peace that surpasses understanding, and comfort those who remain with the assurance that love endures beyond this life. Amen.
